Singshore Bridge

Singshore Bridge:                     The beautiful Singshore bridge is located in  Pelling in the state of Sikkim at  the foothills of Mount khangchendzonga . It is the highest bridge in Sikkim and Second highest in Asia .It was built 16 years ago with a height of over 100 m  .It is 198 m suspension bridge  connecting two green mountains  and two beatiful village to each other. The place is surrounded with snow mountain range and the cool strong winds and beautiful waterfall is amazing . The bridge is open  on all days of the week from 6 am to 6 pm and there is no entry fees .There is a restaurant adjacent to the bridge where one can have momos and tea. The bridge is 5 km from Pelling and there is shared Jeep from Gangtok to Pelling (133km).   All the months are considered to be best  for visit except  the monsoon season  from June to August . After crossing the bridge one can visit Alpine cheese factory and also Pemayangtse Monastery which is 25 km from the bridge .

Tiger hill: The view of dazzling  mighty kanchenjenga from tiger hills is phenomenal. Tiger hill is situated at an altitude of 8482 ft(2,590 m) in Darjeeling ,West Bengal,India.It is the summit of Ghoom ,the highest railway station in the Himalayan Railway. It is 63 km from Siliguri and  11 km from Darjeeling.  It takes mostly 2hrs 30 min  from Siliguri by private car .The best season to visit is between October to December and March to April . The road leading to tiger hill is very beautiful. The lone beautiful pine trees with refreshing cool breeze and if u are lucky  u  can get snow in  the month of December just adding to it’s serenity. Shared Jeep, taxi ply on the road towards tiger hill. For the sunrise view 4 AM is the best time at the observatory tower .  The captivating serenity of the changing  colours of the snow peaks as the sun strikes is awesome.   The transition  of colours from  orange to yellow to snowy white is striking .  Ahaldara: A tale of serenity!!!! Ahaldara a place of epitome beauty located in the   Darjeeling district popularly known as Queen of Hills . Located approx 5000ft the place had a paranomic 360 degree view of Doors , Terai on one side and sikkim, kalimpong gangtok, tinchuley on the other side . It is also the highest point of the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. DIRECTION: Ahaldara is situated 48km from Siliguri city .It takes about 2 hrs to reach via sevoke   and kalijhora. There is also another route from Darjeeling via peshok road ,teeta Bazar ,kalijhora which is about 85 km. Pleasant weather to visit   mostly in April June .Booking is mainly done online.   SERENITY: The breathtaking view of Ahaldara   with green mountain slops and   river teeta flowing besides it is mersmerising .There is 3 beautiful   cottage available   called Humrohome. It is double bedded with wooded walls with attached toilet. The owner is very friendly. The food is good and tasty .   Provision

Parashuram kund in the “land of the rising Sun"

Parashuram kund: Parashuram kund is a holy place situated  in the lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh ,popularly known as the “land of the rising Sun". It is filled with exquisite beauty of nature and surrounded by mountains. Legend says that Lord Parashuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu committed the sin of killing his mother at the behest of his father and got the axe stuck in his hand. The axe was detached when he took a dip in the Lohit river. From then on it became a place of worship for the sadhus and the people across India and popularly came to be known as Parashuram kund.The place attracts huge crowds especially during Makar Sankranti observed in January when people take a dip in the holy water believed to wash away one's sins.The kund is nearly 300 steps downhill in the lohit river. A mighty rock standing tall in the lohit river is a beautiful sight from above. You will also see numerous orange orchards in people's houses if you travel in the winters.

Jorpokhri: A place for Himalayan Salamanders!

Jorpokhri: A place for Himalayan Salamanders! Jorpokhri is a small rarely visited hamlet near Darjeeling,situated at an altitude of 7400ft.The place lies on the road connecting Darjeeling with Mirik at a distance of about 16 km from Darjeeling. What makes this place more pristine is the presence of two small natural lakes and the dense, green pine woods around. In fact, the word Jorpokhri comes from two local words: “jor” meaning two and “pokhri” meaning “pond.” The twin lakes are an abode of swans and are also the breeding ground for the endangered Himalayan Salamanders. If you are lucky, monsoons are the best season to spot Salamanders.Inbthe middle of one lake one huge snake is erected with fountain.While you can see the entire Kanchenjunga range on one side, you can view the cities of Darjeeling and Kurseong on the other side. The route goes via Chitre. Meghma to Gairibans (2621 m): There are two alternative trekking routes. They respectively go via Tonglu (3070 m) and Tumling (2900 m). From Tumling, a shorter trail cuts through Nepal and Jaubari (2750 m). Gairibans to Sandakp
